Various parts of the Danish museum service are in the process of putting together a manual of good practice for the storage of museum heritage objects on this website. The manual will attempt to pass on information, experience and good practice with regard to everything concerning museum storage, ranging from designing new buildings and the choice of building materials, via climate control principles and energy consumption, to cleaning and pest control. The aim of ‘Magasinmanualen’ is to collect information about current Danish development projects dealing with preventive conservation, and to function as a portal to international sites dealing with similar matters. During 2007, four storage facilities for cultural history objects were introduced on the Danish version of the site, and information on both a natural history museum and an art museum was prepared for publication on the site.
